Doctor

  • Geoff Gregg , DVM


    A native of Knox County, Dr. Gregg grew up in Fredericktown and graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1976. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Pre-veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1980, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After several years as a working cowboy in the Western states, Dr. Gregg continued graduate studies at the Ohio State University and holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry Education obtained in 1986. After teaching for 2 years in the Columbus area, Dr. Gregg and his wife spent a year in England. His wife, Dr. Debbie Shepherd-Gregg, was there on a Fulbright Fellowship and Dr. Gregg spent the year as a student with the Dean Veterinary Hospital of St. Albans, England. Upon their return, Dr. Gregg entered the Ohio State University where he graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. After practicing for a year in Worthington, Ohio, Dr. Gregg established his family in Mount Vernon and began his tenure with Hillside Veterinary Clinic in July of 1993. The original Hillside Clinic was located on Wooster Road just north of the cemetery and staffed by Dr. Clyde Purdy from 1958 to 1993. Dr. Gregg and his staff occupied that location until February 1998 when the new hospital was established at its current location at 1475 Yauger Road.

    Dr. Gregg is married to Dr. Debbie Shepherd-Gregg and they have two teenage boys who keep them very active in school, community and outdoor activities. You may see them mowing the yard, restocking food, assisting customers, or just hanging out at the clinic. The clinic has been a family oriented environment since it's beginning. They share passions for running and snow skiing. Their household is shared by two dogs, two cats, two cockatiels, and two tanks of freshwater fish.

  • David M Dubusky , DVM


    In April 2005, Hillside Veterinary Clinic proudly welcomed the addition of Dr. David M. Dubusky as an associate veterinarian.

     

    Dr. Dubusky is a transplant to the Mid-Ohio area. He spent the early years of his childhood in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. His family moved to Lexington, Ohio in 1988. Dr. Dubusky is a 1995 graduate of Lexington High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1999. While attending MVNU, Dr. Dubusky completed a preceptorship with Dr. Gregg. In June of 2004, Dr. Dubusky received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His specific areas of interest include small animal internal medicine, theriogenology, parasitology, radiology, and surgery. 

     

    A carpenter by trade (1995 graduate of Pioneer Career and Technology Center), Dr. Dubusky also enjoys all facets of home remodeling. Additional hobbies include camping, biking, golfing, and softball. He is an avid fan of both collegiate and professional sports and also enjoys spending time with family and friends. 

     

    Dr. Dubusky currently resides in Mount Vernon with his wife Amy, their daughter Taylor, and their son Jackson. Amy is also a MVNU graduate (2000). She taught first grade in the Gahanna-Jefferson school district (2000-2004) and is now staying at home raising their children and teaches preschool at the YMCA. Taylor is an active three-year-old and enjoys drawing, singing, tea parties, and visiting the clinic. Jackson is a happy one-year-old and enjoys trucks, dinosaurs and playing outside.  A seven-year-old female Labrador mix (“Maggie”) and a seven-year-old female shorthaired calico (“Popoki”) complete the family.

Management

  • Debbie Shepherd-Gregg, PhD


    Dr. Debbie Shepherd-Gregg has been Hillside's practice manager since she and Dr. Geoff Gregg began their tenure in 1993. She is married to Dr. Gregg and they have two children Ty and Jake Gregg. Their house is also shared by Gus (yellow lab), Dolly (Norfolk Terrier), Bob & Lucy (domestic short haired cats), 2 cockatiels and 2 freshwater aquariums.

     

    Debbie has Bachelor, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in Science Education. She is a professor in the Education Department of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University where she teaches science methods and general education courses. Debbie previously taught middle and high school science for 13 years in Ohio and Oklahoma.

Technician

  • Cindy Maxwell


    Cindy Maxwell is a Veterinary Technician at Hillside. She has been working at HVC since September of 1987. Cindy graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Columbus Technical Institute in 1980. She is a certified Veterinary Dental Hygienist.
     
    Cindy has three dogs: Duke, a border collie, Chopper, a poodle, and Panda, a Boston terrier. She also has six cats: Bobette, Woosel, Tony, Ben, Eli and Rosie. Three horses, Firefly, Dick and Star, plus the cockatiel, Elvis, round out the group.

  • Jessica Carnes


    Jessica is a Veterinary Techician at Hillside. She has been working at Hillside since November of 2007. Jessica graduated from the Veterinary Techician program from Columbus State. She passed the Veterinary Technician National Boards to become a Lisenced Veterinary Technician. She has been a technician since 2000.

    Jessica has a dog, Oscar, and two cats, Bessy and Inky. She also has a horse, Rhythm, and four chickens.

Reception

  • Carol A Holtrey


    Carol Holtrey is a receptionist at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since May of 2003. Carol has attended the Ohio Veterinary Conference for three years and has participated in other Veterinary seminars and staff development activities. Carol also has 25 years experience in small business.
     
    Carol is married, has two children and four grandchildren.
     
    Carol shares her home with two registered Persian cats (litter mates) named "Gemini's Trouble" and "Gemini's Double Trouble" - a.k.a. "Buddy & Tig".

    Teresa is a receptionist at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since September of 2004.

  • Heidi Schermer-Jones


    Heidi Schermer-Jones is a receptionist at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since 2000.
     
    Heidi has seven dogs: Chuck, Infinity, Sal, Manfred, Mia, Ginger and Buddy.

Grooming

  • Leslie Pupulidy


    Leslie Pupulidy is the groomer at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since September of 2003.
     
    Leslie has groomed for 30 years. She owned her own grooming shop in Florida for 13 years. In 1983, she won first place awards in Grooming Contests in Georgia.
     
    Leslie has one dog, three cats and two mini horses.

Assistants

  • Judy Wolff, Veterinary Assistant


    Judy Wolff is a Veterinary Assistant at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since October of 1996. Judy has attended continuing education courses through the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) for the past ten years. She has also attended various seminars and has ten years of on the job training.
     
    Judy has been married to Randy Wolff for 27 years. She has one daughter, Carly (21). Her hobbies are travel, gardening, horseback riding and water sports.
     
    Judy has four cats (Sissy, Mickey, Tommy & Lily), a border collie (Faith), a border collie mix (Mouse), a mixed breed dog (Patches) and a registered paint quarter horse (Lucy).

  • Carolyn Allen, Veterinary Assistant


    Carolyn Allen is a Veterinary Assistant at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since October of 2002. She attends sessions at the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) Convention every year. She also participates in various seminars and in-house education opportunities.
     
    Carolyn has been advisor and trainer for the K-9 Companions 4-H Club for 16 years. She is also in the process of training her dog, CJ, in obedience and agility work.
     
    Carolyn celebrates 29 years of marriage to Mark Allen this year. They have four children and six grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family and attending their activities. She also loves the company of her pets and especially enjoys long walks with her husband and her dogs. They enjoy taking their dogs camping, hiking and canoeing.
     
    Carolyn has Bud and CJ (golden retrievers) and three cats, Breezy, Jesse and Sundance.

  • Michelle Davis, Veterinary Assistant


    Michelle Davis is a Veterinary Assistant at Hillside. She has worked for HVC since August of 2007.

    Michelle is a Veterinary Technician "In Training". She has her Associate Degree in Human and Social Services. She has lived in Knox/Morrow County area her whole life. She is a 1994 Graduate of Highland High School.

    Michelle is married to her highschool boyfriend, Toby. They have two children; Katelynn, 12 and Kimberly, 10. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, sports, vacationing and raising and training llamas and German Shepherd dogs.

    Michelle has three German Shepherd dogs (Kazan, Yazmin and Hedgie), three cats and eleven llamas.

  • Robyn Hochstetler, Kennel Staff


    Robyn Hochstetler is a member of the kennel staff at Hillside. She has been working for HVC since May of 2006.
     
    Robyn is a member of the K-9 Companions 4-H Club where she trains her dogs in obedience, grooming and handling. Robyn is also active in helping other members learn how to train their dogs.
     
    Robyn owns two dogs.

  • Jessica McQuigg, Kennel Staff


    Jessica McQuigg is part of the kennel staff at Hillside. She has been working at HVC since January 2008.

    Jessica is interested in soccer, band, sewing, 4-H and reading. In the future, she is interested in going into pharmaceutical biochemistry in order to develop new medications.  

    Jessica has a dog, two cats, two gerbels and a hamster.
